The Kangal Dog is a native Turkish livestock guardian breed, and in Turkey this historic breed goes by no other name. It is registered in the USA by the United Kennel Club (UKC), a respected registry for over 100 years, whose focus is on the "Total Dog." - KDCA

Our Kangals are DNA health tested and hips certified.

The Kangals on our farm, Skyfiber Ranch, diligently guard alpacas, KuneKune, and chickens. If you are interested in one of our Kangal puppies or a working dog, please complete the "Kangal Dog Placement Questionnaire" found on the Puppies page.

We are located close to Washington DC in the beautiful horse country of Marshall, VA.

Kangal Snapshot

The Kangal Dog is a calm, stable, devoted, independent, and powerful livestock guardian dog. They are protective without being overly aggressive. Kangals are very intelligent, and gentle with children and livestock. Kangals have a double coat that is moderately short and quite dense. The Kangal Dog has a black mask and black velvety ears which contrast with a whole-body color which may range from light dun to gray.
